1. The organization of research , " Cultural policy in the light of new social realities".The conclusion of this research is part of our book we published already titled, Critical cultural models (Athens , 1999). Reprinted in Contemporary cultural theory Papazisis, 2001 and then in Culture Theory , vol II Psifida 2005.
2.The development of the survey "Art , Culture , Communication ," by promoting research process is directed towards processing doctoral theses. This research is ongoing, with remarkable results already : Writing and supporting two theses , while continuing normal processing of the other .
3.The process of research and scientific proposal , " The political changes of the Greek society and their impact on education" within the EPEAEK - survey (December 1997) .
4. Drafting of the study, "What is the future of cultural policy in Europe ? ". Institution: Γ.Δ.Χ. of the EU Commission.
5. The design and organization of the survey : "Thrace , Aegean , Cyprus : People oral culture ", in collaboration with the Department of Primary Education , Democritus University / University . Thrace and the KYKEM ( 2001-2003). Presentation of the findings of the program in Nicosia ( 03/11/26 ) .
6. The processing of a proposal for cultural development for the Greek islands , entitled : " Integrated project cultural development of islands".

Our laboratory has demonstrated a remarkable research , educational, counseling and scientific activity , both within the University of the Aegean , and generally developing and nurturing activities with other scientific institutions and organizations in Greece and abroad. For example, we work closely with the Free University of Brussels ( Mr. L. Kouloumparitsis ) Center Cyprus Research ( KYKEM ), the Institute of Mediterranean relations of Paris (Mr. S. NAIR), Edinburgh University ( Ms V. Kolokotroni) , the University of Lecce ( Mr. F. Toledi) etc. More specifically, today we have conducted some very important research on social exclusion , for the society , art, culture , ideology , technology and education , the structure of technological revolutions on the deeper structure of social division of labor (social sharing ) and recently on globalization . Our basic position is that it is not possible to study the phenomena of art and culture without thorough investigation and study of the constantly changing social conditions. Therefore, our starting point is the study of social conditions , and from here head and to the so-called superstructure . For this reason we have so far made a remarkable number of studies and investigations, which continue anchoring them to a more general problem for deeper investigation and understanding of human and social mainstream.
Specifically we mention the following :
1.We participated actively in search of NTUA on "Scientific Revolutions - Technology - Education." (N / A Address: Th Vakalios). Published a 15-page text finding in the minutes of the respective conference.
2.We participated in another research theme Literacy and education. (N / A Address: Th Vakalios). The conclusion of this research published in the journal.
3.We organised a survey that art education and education by involving our students.
4.We worked systematically to investigate the relationship of the economy to the culture in collaboration with the CIF. Done all the research material (about 450 pages) from the CIF.
5.Weparticipated as consultants to the project "The Culture of olive" funded by the INTERREG II. Implementing body: Development Company of Kefalonia.
6.We made the research proposal, "The popular culture of the Southern Aegean and Cyprus - Social component" Program "Thrace - Aegean - Cyprus".
RESEARCH PROGRAM FOR THE HISTORY , THEORY AND THE AESTHETICS OF MODERN ART
The survey consists of a systematic nature effort in history, theory and aesthetics of modern art based on the rich literature , even the most recent. ( See for example, Art since 1900 , 704 pp. Edition focus , group of American teachers - Preface- Editor M. Papanikolaou ) .
To carry out this program we will try :
a) to create a network of partners and foundations
b) adopt a list raisones by rich archival material exists, unpublished scores , etc. At the same time , in cooperation with other institutions will organize seminars , conferences , workshops to gather material for publication collective volumes, monographs etc.

The aim of our laboratory is the identification and promotion of cultural aspects a) of the Dodecanese and Cyprus b) of the musical tradition of the Eastern Mediterranean, c) other regions and cultural industries or sectors, eg. popular culture, iconography, etc.
