The Lab's mission is:
1. The coverage at the undergraduate and graduate level of the teaching and research needs of the Department which owns the lab and of the other departments of the University of the Aegean, at the objects with which it deals.
2. Documentation, research and study in the areas of art, culture, communication and cultural policy.
3. The production of cultural and modern educational (in its broadest sense) hardware (cd, books, magazines and printed various forms).
4. Organizing workshops, seminars, symposia, conferences, etc., in order to deepen scientific and disseminate the results of the whole research work.
5. The design and execution of research programs with relevant content.
6. Taking out research or training projects by other agencies, public or private.
7. The development of interdisciplinary research on the objects of its interest, and for this reason the development of partnerships with other relevant laboratories, research centers and universities in Greece and abroad.
8. Organizing and assisting graduate studies.
9. The facilitation and development of theoretical research in our country at the fields of research of the lab.
